About Florida Business Insurance

Florida small businesses face a specific mix of risks: hurricane exposure on any physical location, third-party liability from customers and clients on your premises or at their sites, and contract requirements that increasingly demand real insurance limits before you can even bid a job. A generic online BOP quote rarely captures all of that. We take a few minutes to understand what you actually do, then match you with carriers that write your class of business.

General liability (GL) is the foundation. It covers third-party bodily injury and property damage — a customer slipping in your shop, damaging a client's property while on their site, or a product-related claim. Most Florida commercial leases and vendor contracts require a $1M per-occurrence / $2M aggregate GL policy at minimum, and we can issue a certificate of insurance quickly once bound.

A Business Owners Policy (BOP) combines general liability with commercial property coverage — your building, tools, inventory, equipment, and business personal property — usually at a lower total cost than buying the pieces separately. BOPs are ideal for retail, offices, restaurants, small services, and many light-manufacturing operations. If you have an offsite location, home office equipment, or specialty gear, we'll build that into the schedule.

Depending on your industry you may also need commercial auto (see our commercial auto page), workers' compensation (required in Florida for most businesses with four or more employees, and one or more in construction), cyber liability if you handle customer data, professional liability (E&O) if you give advice or services, or product liability. We coordinate all of it under one relationship so nothing falls through the gaps.

Florida Business Insurance FAQ

What insurance does a small business in Florida legally need?

Florida requires workers' comp for most non-construction businesses with four or more employees (one or more in construction), and commercial auto for business-owned vehicles. General liability isn't legally required in most cases, but landlords, clients, and vendors almost always require it by contract.

What's the difference between GL and a BOP?

General liability (GL) covers third-party bodily injury and property damage. A Business Owners Policy (BOP) bundles GL with commercial property coverage for your building, contents, tools, and business personal property — often at a better rate than buying them separately.

Can you provide a certificate of insurance quickly?

Yes. Once a policy is bound we can typically issue COIs within one business day, and often the same day, so you can meet contract or bid deadlines.
